Making life better for sick children in Sussex

 

 

 

Book a team for this year’s dragon boat race and donate your sponsorship to Rockinghorse.

 

Rockinghorse is an independent local charity, which aims to make life better for sick and disabled children in Sussex. We do this by funding cutting edge equipment that the NHS cannot cover and by making medical facilities for children and young people as comfortable, friendly and accessible as possible.

 

Rockinghorse has been making life better for sick children for 43 years, supporting children’s hospitals, including the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and respite centres across the county. We have made a significant impact on the services available to some of the most vulnerable children in Sussex, providing equipment and facilities to help families through the most difficult times.

 

We want to continue to make this life-changing impact on children and young people of Sussex and we need your support, so please sign up to support us today.

 

Dragon Boat Racing is a lot of fun.  As well as taking part in a minimum of three races during the day, there is also plenty of time to relax, explore the beautiful scenery of Bewl Water, and enjoy the entertainment! There will be bands playing, stalls and games for everyone to enjoy. Spectators and supporters are also welcome to come for the day.

 

How to enter

 

Terms of entry

 

1.                  Each team will have a crew of no more than 16 in any one race plus a drummer. 

 

2.                  Minimum age is 16 years.  

 

3.                  Entry arrangements for the team will be confirmed by the charity to which you have applied.   Sponsorship forms will be sent upon receipt of completed entry form.

 

4.                  Each team must aim to raise at least £1,000 in sponsorship money.

 

5.                  The races will run from approximately 10.00am to 5.00pm.

 

6.                 There will be a minimum of 3 races per team on the day (weather permitting) and more for any team reaching the finals.

 

7.                  Details of where to assemble and where to register will be advised with confirmation of entry.
